While Monster Hunter Wilds broke new records for the series, older titles like Monster Hunter World and Rise continue to perform well. In fact, after announcing that Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak had crossed 9.8 million sold as of March 31st, Capcom confirmed a new milestone of 10+ million sold.
Launched in March 2021, the expansion saw players going beyond Kamura into a new land. With the help of the Hunters in Elgado Outpost, they face off against the Three Lords, including the new flagship monster Malzeno, to solve the mystery of the Qurio.
Alongside a new endgame activity in Anomaly Investigations, Sunbreak introduced new Switch Skills, allowing players to swap between Skill loadouts during hunts. Each weapon type received new moves, and the introduction of Master Rank to the title meant higher-rarity armor and tougher fights.
