Atomic Heart 2 has been officially announced by developer Mundfish during Summer Game Fest 2025. The sequel to the 2023 retrofuturistic shooter is currently in development for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. While no release date or pricing details have been disclosed yet, the game is available to wishlist on Steam.

The original game did very well for Mundfish, apparently managing to top 10 million players by the start of this year.

Building upon the alternate-history Soviet setting of its predecessor, Atomic Heart 2 introduces expanded RPG elements, offering players greater freedom and choice. The game features a dystopian world on the brink of collapse, with enhanced combat mechanics that allow simultaneous use of glove abilities and a variety of melee and ranged weapons. Set in a retrofuturistic universe, the narrative continues to explore the consequences of advanced robotics and AI spiraling into chaos.
