After crossing four million players shortly after launch, The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered has achieved a new milestone of nine million players. Bethesda Game Studios announced this on Bluesky, thanking players for “sharing in our worlds.”

Available for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC, Oblivion Remastered was rumored for years before launching last April. Developed in conjunction with Virtuos, it retains the Gamebryo Engine while using Unreal Engine 5 to rebuild character models, environments, and more from the ground up.

Alongside bundling all the expansions and DLC, the remaster also revamped leveling to be less complicated and improved combat. Of course, several elements like the NPC conversations remain completely unchanged, retaining the classic’s charm. Check out our review for more details. It received backlash due to technical issues and bugs, but a recent update helped address the same.

After the success of Oblivion Remastered, rumors indicate that Fallout 3 Remastered could be next. Though nothing is official, Bethesda allegedly has multiple Fallout games in the works (including Fallout 5).
