IO Interactive’s Hitman World of Assassination has been delayed for PlayStation VR2, launching on March 27th, 2025, instead of this December. In a new PlayStation Blog post, the developer explained that the decision “was not made lightly.”
“We know there was a lot of demand to bring Hitman on PS VR2, and we were excited to see the great reception following the announcement. As such, our priority will always remain to deliver an amazing experience that meets the high standards our players expect.” While the additional time is being used for more polish, it also allows for new features like active reloading.
This provides greater control over reloading while amping up the realism, as players must actually grab and slot a new clip into their guns in VR. It’s also confirmed that positional interactions, where players must turn on a TV or poison drinks with the corresponding motions, also extend to quest items. Be prepared to mimic swiping keycards and turning locks in doors. If that wasn’t enough, snatching a disguise is more “physics-based” and depends on “positional control, grabbing, and momentum.”
