Hangar 13 has announced that Mafia: The Old Country, its prequel to the mainline series, has gone gold. Principle development has effectively wrapped, even though a day-one patch is still likely, and it will undergo physical disc manufacturing and online certification.

Compared to the more urban settings of previous titles, Mafia: The Old Country unfolds in Sicily in the 1900s. Players will explore the quaint city but also venture into the countryside as Enzo Favara, a new member of the Torrisi family. After his initiation, Enzo delves into the underworld with knife fights and “life or death” battles with limited ammunition.

Mafia: The Old Country launches on August 8th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC, retailing for $49.99. It offers a more linear narrative and a heavy emphasis on authenticity, right down to including Italian localization and Sicilian voice acting. Check out the latest story trailer here. You can also learn more about its PC requirements, which aren’t too heavy.
