According to a reliable source, Naughty Dog plans to release a new special edition for The Last of Us franchise, with a physical PS5 edition in the works.
A report by billbil-kun on Dealabs states that Naughty Dog is working on “a new special edition of a game in The Last of Us franchise”; however, which game it will be about is unknown. The report also tells us the price, which will be set at EUR 119.99 and USD 109.99, and this mystery edition will be available for purchase in Europe and North America.
It seems that the mystery special edition of The Last of Us franchise will receive a physical release on the PS5. Moreover, the announcement could arrive very soon, as pre-orders are expected to begin within the next two months. Many players are placing their bets on a bundle that includes the remastered versions of The Last of Us Part 1 and The Last of Us Part 2.
The Last of Us HBO series will receive a second season on April 13, 2025. The new season will have seven episodes, with one dropping each week. The rumoured pre-order announcement date for this mystery special edition coincides with the end date for season 2 of the HBO series, which could mean something. However, players should take this information with a grain of salt.
