Those who felt short-changed by the recent trailer for Capcom’s Resident Evil Requiem can take solace, as new gameplay has emerged from the demo available for Gamescom attendees. Instead of providing more context for Grace and Alyssa’s escape from Hotel Wrenwood, we see more of the former in the present day, as she struggles to escape from the Rhodes Hill Chronic Care Center. Check it out below, courtesy of GameSpot.

After escaping from the hospital gurney, Grace explores her surroundings, finding a lighter and an empty ink ribbon case. While she also discovers a corpse, it’s quickly taken and chomped on by the new stalker-like foe. For the first time, we finally see it in all its glory, from its elongated arms to its giant eyes.

As Grace flees from the monster, showcasing the shift from first to third-person perspective, it pursues her into a well-lit room and subsequently recoils in pain. Navigating through the hallways while avoiding the monster as noiselessly as possible is key. However, you can throw some objects to help lure it away.

Despite finding all the fuses necessary to progress, the monster emerges again, as Grace flees in terror, stumbling in the process. Resident Evil Requiem launches on February 27th, 2026, for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. Stay tuned for more details in the coming months (and whether Leon is really playable or not).
