It seems Oblivion Remastered has been a huge hit, as Mat Piscatella of Circana (formerly NPD) has named it the best-selling game of April in the US. In fact, April was pretty good for Xbox as it claimed multiple spots in the chart.

Speaking on BlueSky, Piscatella delved into the latest Circana data tracking game sales in the US. According to the numbers, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered was the best-selling game across Xbox, PlayStation and PC for the month of April.

Piscatella also said that Oblivion Remastered sold more units in April than the original game did in 15 months. That’s enough to earn it 3rd place on the best-selling games of the year so far, behind Monster Hunter: Wilds in 1st place and Assassin’s Creed: Shadows in 2nd.

Xbox’s success continued with Forza Horizon 5 jumping up from 42nd in the sales ranking to 2nd following its release on PlayStation 5. What’s impressive about this is that achieved this despite launching late in April, giving it just a few days on sale.

Another Xbox game also saw a big jump after coming to PlayStation 5 – Indiana Jones and the Great Circle went from 118th in March to the 6th spot in April.

What this also means is that Microsoft currently makes up half of the top ten best-sellers for April, as it also publishes Minecraft (4th) and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 (7th).

Piscatella also pointed out that his data shows Microsoft made up for 5 out of the 7 best-selling games on PlayStation in April, a perfect demonstration of how much the industry has changed in such a short span of time.
