Rogue Factor has spoken about the lack of handholding in action-adventure Hell is Us, with the world offering all kinds of incredible things to organically discover. These include dungeons, and in a new trailer, the developer talks about what makes them so intriguing. Check it out below.

Each dungeon is hand-crafted and extremely focused, right down to the placement of enemies. While they will test your combat skills (some fights will “stick with you” because they “carry weight in your journey”), there are also puzzles to solve. Rogue Factor says that these cause the player to “take a step back,” experimenting, potentially failing and then returning with a fresh idea.

The number of dungeons in Hell is Us is unknown, but seeing them treated as more than just set pieces, each possessing a distinct identity, is enticing ahead of its launch on September 4th. Stay tuned for more details and check out the PC requirements here. You can also learn more about the three combat presets, including the optional death penalty.
