Remedy’s FBC: Firebreak launches next week, and after revealing the launch trailer, game director Mike Kayatta outlines everything to know about the co-op shooter in a new video. And yes, that includes more Corrupted Item effects.
As a member of Firebreak, players take on various Jobs (with two more coming post-launch) in The Oldest House, averting crises while battling the Hiss. You can choose from one of three Crisis Kits, each with a unique tool and Altered Item, which adds an enhanced effect. Friendly fire is a thing, though, so be careful not to light teammates on fire.
The Corrupted Items can introduce all kinds of weird modifiers to a Job, including reduced gravity, exploding corpses, and causing players to freeze. You can’t destroy them with weapons, but a Black Rock Neutralizer discovered at a workstation can chase them away.
Upon evacuation (which involves surviving hordes of Hiss), you can unlock new equipment and perks. Some of the latter include extra grenade capacity, resistance to harmful condition build-up, bullets that have a chance to inflict Wet, and more.
FBC: Firebreak launches on June 17th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. Check out our feature for more details.
