Escape from Tarkov remains the world’s most popular extraction shooter, almost a decade after it first entered a beta state. It has been expanded, twisted, and evolved over the last decade, with developer Battlestate Games adding new maps, modes, and even a spin-off shooter called EFT: Arena.

The latest evolution that Battlestate Games is eyeing is a DLSS 4 integration, which the studio has dubbed ‘a revolutionary suite of neural rendering technologies.’

The Next Step

Escape from Tarkov is a tricky title that remains popular despite suffering under the weight of constant issues and controversies. From the studio’s Russian backing to the ongoing issues with cheaters, Escape from Tarkov has been locked under a state of scrutiny for the last couple of years at least.

Regardless, Battlestate Games never stops pumping content and updates into the game. From minor balancing updates to massive map expansions, the developer has poured attention into Escape from Tarkov, but the community still isn’t pleased with what exists today.

In a recent post on social media, the team revealed what’s coming next in Escape from Tarkov:

We are following the community’s increased interest in DLSS 4.

We are actively working on integration of NVIDIA’s updated DLSS along with other potential performance improvements and fixes for known issues in #EscapefromTarkov. The technology is undergoing internal testing and…

DLSS 4 is one of Nvidia’s latest marvels, a super-powered, AI-driven network that boosts visual clarity and improves performance., It leans on artificial intelligence to boost frame generation while reducing the load on GPUs, which is great for those with lower-spec PCs

In January 2025, Cyberpunk 2077 became the first game to support DLSS 4, and since then, many more titles have followed. For instance, games like Dynasty Warriors: Origins, Gray Zone Warfare, Lords of the Fallen, and Microsoft Flight Simulator have all integrated nicely with the Nvidia technology – and Escape from Tarkov could be next.

Are you happy to see Battlestate Games considering DLSS 4, or would you rather the team focus on fixing the existing issues in Escape from Tarkov? Let us know on the GPlayr forum.
