Crimson Desert seemed poised to reveal new gameplay at Gamescom following its delay, but Pearl Abyss isn’t waiting. Over 13 minutes of new footage is available, showcasing Kliff as he joins the Calphadean army to retake their castle. Check it out below, courtesy of IGN.
From unleashing cannon fire to destroy enemy watchtowers to battling through the settlement en route to the castle, we see a few new abilities and weapons (like the spear) in play. One heavy attack can explode with elemental energy, while another sees Kliff rushing through enemies, slicing and dicing throughout.
Upon rescuing a soldier and arriving at the castle to meet his ally, the greataxe-wielding Oongka, Kliff battles Cassius Morten, a betrayer of the realm. It’s a fairly pitched battle with some interesting mechanics, including using a pillar to smash Cassius for significant damage. When it’s all said and done, Kliff flies out to light the beacon of victory.
Whether this is all from the demo that attendees will get to play at Gamescom is unknown. Crimson Desert is coming to Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC in Q1 2026. Head here for even more gameplay details.
