Among the Trolls, the 2022-announced first-person survival action adventure game, will launch in Early Access for PC via Steam in 2025, publisher 505 Pulse and developer Avantgarden Games announced.
While Among the Trolls was originally planned to be published by 505 Games, publishing has moved to Digital Bros‘ independent games-focused 505 Pulse label. Additionally, after the closure of original developer Forbidden Studio, the team that laid the groundwork for the game decided to keep supporting the project by entrusting it to Avantgarden Games, which started from scratch in 2024 and moved the project from Unity to Unreal Engine.
“We’re thrilled to collaborate with Avantgarden on reigniting the Among the Trolls project,” said 505 Pulse senior global brand manager Fabrizio Faraoni in a press release. “They embraced the concept with passion. There was a community of players, eager to know more about the status of the project. We worked for a long time behind the scenes, and we are finally ready to show early glimpses of the game they are putting together. A truly unique experience that blends survival mechanics, rich storytelling over the stunning Finnish landscape.”
Avantgarden Games creative director Girgio Macellari added, “We see Among the Trolls as an opportunity to deliver a different take on the survival genre and shape it with the help of its dedicated community. Our partnership with 505 Pulse allows us to deliver this vision to a global audience.”
