Publisher TAITO and developer Bridge announced Yuukyuu Gensoukyoku Revival, a full remake of the friendship cultivating simulation game Yuukyuu Gensoukyoku with fully renewed graphics. It will launch for Switch this winter in Japan.
Yuukyuu Gensoukyoku originally released on July 18, 1997 for SEGA Saturn and August 28, 1997 for PlayStation. The series—which consists of three mainline titles, two fan discs, and a tribute title—has sold a total of total of 750,000 copies. Part of its appeal was that it focused on friendly relationships between both male and female characters, rather than romantic relationships with a single gender.
For Yuukyuu Gensoukyoku Revival, original character designer moo will return, fully updating all of the game’s characters and brushing them up with a modern style, without compromising the characteristics and atmosphere of the original designs. And developer VRIDGE employs many staff who were involved in the development of the original Yuukyuu Gensoukyoku, including the main development staff.
