Ys Memoire: Memories of Celceta, the official title of the recently announced Switch version of Ys: Memories of Celceta, will launch on May 22 in Japan for 4,840 yen, Falcom announced.

Ys: Memories of Celceta is currently available for PlayStation 4, PC via Steam, and PS Vita.

    Get the first details below.

    About

The action RPG series Ys has received high praise from players worldwide for its simple yet exhilarating battles, clear and dramatic storylines, and intense background music that elevates the combat experience.

Ys: Memories of Celceta, which originally released for PS Vita in 2012 and set the systems groundwork for Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of DANA and Ys IX: Monstrum Nox, has now been enhanced with high-definition remastering and new features as Ys Memoire: Memories of Celceta for Nintendo Switch.

    New Features

    • Newly Arranged Versions of All In-Game Background Music – You can freely switch between the beloved original tracks and their newly arranged versions at any time, allowing both first-time players and returning fans to enjoy the story and battles of Ys: Memories of Celceta anew.

    Story Prologue

Casnan, a city on the Romun frontier, is in the midst of a gold rush. Among the miners and workers, a red-haired young man wanders through the crowd. He accidentally bumps into a rowdy miner, who picks a fight and strikes him hard.

“What is this place?… Who am I…?”

Just after the young man mutters this, someone suddenly calls out…

    “Hey, Adol! Is that you?”

The person calling out was a tall, muscular man with silver hair. Naturally, the young man did not recognize him. Despite his appearance, the man was surprisingly familiar and overly friendly, introducing himself as Duren, an informant.

According to Duren, the young man’s name is Adol Christin. A few weeks earlier, Adol had met Duren in the city, then traveled to the Great Forest of Celceta, a place that even the locals rarely enter, and since then, his whereabouts had been unknown.

What happened to Adol in the Great Forest of Celceta, also known as the devil’s domain? Why did he lose all his memories?

To uncover the truth, Adol decides to once again venture into the forbidden land of the Great Forest of Celceta, this time with Duren…

    Reversible Box Art

The physical edition of Ys Memoire: Memories of Celceta includes reversible box art featuring the original artwork from the PS Vita version.

Physical Edition First-Print Bonus: Original Soundtrack

First-print copies of the Ys Memoire: Memories of Celceta physical edition will include a two-disc original soundtrack with all of the newly arranged background music from the game. The CD case features exclusive original artwork.

(There are no plans to sell this soundtrack separately.)
