A professional skater of boards (or, skater, if you want to be boring) has sparked hope that another Tony Hawk’s game is getting remastered and might be coming out very soon.
That’s according to Tyshawn Jones who was chatting on the Breakfast Club podcast when he happened to mention: “I’m in a Tony Hawk coming out, that’s cool…They got a new one they’re remastering so that’s abut to come out. I was in the last one.”
The last one he is referring to is, of course, Tony Hawk Pro skater 1+2 which came out in 2020 and was absolutely bloody awesome. Tyshawn Jones was indeed in that game as one of 8 new skaters that joined the original roster.
Given how much people loved the remaster of the first two games it seemed obvious that the next step would be Tony Hawk 3+4, and it would make sense for Tyshawn Jones to be in that as well.
Sadly, the prospect of the third and fourth games getting the same treatment seemed to be destroyed when developer Vicarious Visions was merged with Blizzard in 2021.
But then hope ollied anew when Tony Hawk himself revealed that he was apparently in talks with Activision and that it had been “insanely exciting” and that something was being worked on. The very same month, the Hawk man himself appeared on Instagram to mark the 25th anniversary of the series where he said, “I’m not supposed to tease anything else about the future of the series, but there will be a future.”
All of this seems to be very solid evidence that a new Tony Hawk remaster is coming, and surely it must be Tony Hawk 3+4.
Want more evidence? Well, this last piece of information comes with a massive pinch of salt but is interesting nonetheless. According to one ResetEra user: “it exists and it’s 3+4. a friend of mine pitched for the ad (and didn’t get it)”.
Obviously the old ‘I have a friend’ claim is not the most reliable of sources, but it’s worth at least considering.
