The long-running dictator simulation, city-builder series is back for a 7th entry, cunningly titled Tropico 7. It’s aiming for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5 and PC. It’ll also be arriving on Game Pass on day 1.

The series has changed hands a number of times over the years, with Tropico 6 in 2019 being made by Limbic Entertainment. This time it is Gaming Minds Studios (Port Royale 4, Railway Empire 2) that’s handling development duties.

Launching in 2026, the game is set to a new story across 5 maps where El Presidente must deal with nemesis Victoria Guerra, another 20 sandbox maps, 10 extra scenarios and a random map generator as well.

In terms of new gameplay, the features list mentions a terraforming tool that lets you remove mountains and create entire islands.
