Bungie has announced that its first Developer Livestream for Destiny 2’s next expansion, The Edge of Fate, will go live on June 24th at 10 AM PDT. The team will preview Kepler, the next location, and how players’ gear is “evolving.”
For those not in the know, The Edge of Fate sees the arrival of several reworks, including new difficulty options. Armor 3.0 overhauls gear with stats completely changing and now capped at 200 instead of 100. Tiers are no more – each point counts towards a stat – and armor will have archetypes that determine the rolls alongside set bonuses.
If that isn’t enough, the system will change currently owned armor, though you won’t get any set bonuses. It effectively means farming all over for new armor sets, something longtime players may not be the most thrilled with. Nevertheless, the old armor remains usable.
Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate launches on July 15th for Xbox, PlayStation and PC. In other Bungie news, the developer announced a delay to Marathon with a new release date to be announced this Fall.
