Despite underwhelming sales for Resident Evil 2 remake on iOS, Capcom isn’t giving up on the mobile space. Tying up with Aniplex and JoyCity, it’s working on a new title called Resident Evil: Survival Unit. A press release touts this as a “fresh take” on the franchise, which reimagines the survival horror loop as a “real-time strategy experience optimized for mobile platforms.”

It’s coming to iOS and Android in North America, South Korea, Asia, Europe and Japan, but a release date has yet to be announced. In the meantime, its reveal trailer premieres on July 10th at 3 PM PDT. If the official website is any indication, the story may take place while the old Umbrella still exists.

For non-mobile players, Capcom is working on the next mainline title in the franchise, Resident Evil Requiem. Out on February 27th, 2026, for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC, it stars Grace Ashcroft, daughter of Alyssa from Resident Evil: Outbreak, as a new protagonist. You can learn all the latest details here, but it’s also playable at Gamescom in August.
