Arrowhead Game Studios has announced that the second wave of Helldivers 2 x Killzone 2 crossover content will now be free for all players.
In an update to the backlash over the price of the first wave of content, both Arrowhead and Killzone 2 developer Guerrilla Games released a joint statement on the situation. The statement says that they have been listening to community feedback and is making changes for the next wave.
“As this was our first crossover offering, we’ve been listening to the response, and the feedback we’ve received from our community surveys is that crossover content is really high up on your wishlists,” the statement reads. “At the same time, some of you are not happy with the prices of the items and we will revisit this.
“Because of all this, in partnership with our friends at Guerrilla (and as we’re in the season of holiday cheer), we’ve decided to offer a gift to all players. Firstly, we are gifting to everyone the planned second wave of the Helldivers x Killzone collaboration items today, free of charge. The distribution of those items will begin shortly, in two waves.”
The second wave of content includes the AC-2 Obedient armor set, a PLAS-39 Accelerator Rifle, a StA-11 SMG, Defender of our Dream cape, and a Defender of our Dream player banner.
There was also concern of the rotation of the items. To that point, the studios say that the items currently available will stay in rotation for 10 days as opposed to five.
“We’re also investigating solutions for how we can bring these items back permanently in the future,” they said.
