SAG-AFTRA has introduced that its strike towards online game studios will proceed. The announcement comes after extra negotiations between the events over AI protections and higher common working circumstances didn’t lead to a deal..
“After three days of scheduled negotiations, SAG-AFTRA introduced that Interactive Media Settlement negotiations with employers would proceed, with new dates to be introduced as quickly as they’re confirmed,” the union mentioned in an announcement.
“Negotiations resumed with the employer unit which incorporates Activision Productions Inc., Blindlight LLC, Disney Character Voices Inc., Digital Arts Productions Inc., Formosa Interactive LLC, Insomniac Video games Inc., Llama Productions LLC, Take 2 Productions Inc., and WB Video games Inc. on Oct. 23.”
The union says that the strike stays in place towards “all signatories to the Interactive Media Agreeement”. The one exception is to video games “signed to the Tiered-Funds Unbiased Interactive Media Settlement or an Interim Interactive Media Settlement.”
The most recent online game strike started in July when SAG-AFTRA known as for it after 18 months of negotiations between the union and numerous recreation studios. The union believes that studios don’t have their actors’ finest pursuits in thoughts in terms of potential AI exploitation.
