ML Media and Shine Group, along with indie publisher Radical Theory have released a new trailer for parkour game Rooftops & Alleys. The trailer, which you can check out below, showcases some gameplay, along with giving us a look at some of the features the title will have on its June 17 launch date after having spent a year as an Early Access title on Steam. Rooftops & Alleys will be coming to PC (via Steam), PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch.
The studio describes Rooftops & Alleys as an extreme sports game about parkour. According to the trailer, the title strikes a balance between offering parkour and freerunning gameplay. Where the point of free running is to get from one point to another in the quickest and most efficient way possible, parkour involves being flashier with your moves with various tricks.
Rooftops & Alleys has a progression system fueled by challenges that players can take on. Launch will include six maps that players can parkour and freerun through. Performing combos throughout these levels will raise the player’s adrenaline meter, which can be used up for a pseed boost. The adrenaline meter also prevents the combo meter from going down too fast, allowing the player more time to queue up their next trick to keep pushing for higher scores.
Completing challenges throughout the game will earn the player feathers, which can then be spent on a host of customisation options, from shoes, to backpack, and even new colours. Players can also take on the role of a pigeon to fly through the level, allowing them to get a (literal) bird’s-eye view of the stage before then switching back to the main character to take on complicated freerunning routes. These pigeons are also customisable.
Rooftops & Alleys also has a host of ways to play multiplayer. While players can choose to simply hang out with each other in various maps as they freerun and parkour around, players can also take part in more intense sessions with a variety of game modes, including Capture the Flag, Tricks Battle, and Tag Mode.
