During the Six Invitational, Ubisoft revealed Siege X, an ambitious plan to keep Rainbow Six Siege around for the next ten years. On March 13, Ubisoft will be hosting a three-hour world premiere of Siege X, but for now, a few tasty details have been revealed.

At the Six Invitational showcase, Alex Karpazis and Joshua Mills (both from Ubisoft) revealed that the next ten years of Rainbow Six Siege will be supported by Siege X which is not a sequel or a follow-up title.

    Read on to learn more.

    ‘It’s Not Just Another Update’

Joshua Mills held the stage at the Six Invitational before a roaring crowd and explained:

It is not Siege 2, and it’s not just another update. It’s a major evolution.

We’re expanding and reinforcing the very foundation of Siege to ensure it remaisn the pinnacle of tactical PvP first-person shooters.

This means major graphical and audio upgrades, refined game-feel, and new ways to enjoy the game, all while staying true to what makes the core of Siege so special.

    Karpazis followed that up:

It is such a significant leap forward that we can’t possibly do it justice here at the Six Invitational.

The world premiere of Siege X will take place on March 13 in Atlanta.

    Here’s the new trailer:

For the longest time, fans were talking about a reveal of Rainbow Six Siege 2, or something along those lines. Now that Ubisoft has set the story straight, those rumours have been flushed firmly away.

It was mentioned that developers have been working on Siege X and the host of improvements it’ll introduce for three years. It has been kept so firmly under wraps that nobody managed to leak the project, which is pretty incredible.

It was then revealed that members of the Siege team have been giving the press and creators an early-access look at Siege X and how it improves the base Rainbow Six Siege model. In a snippet during the Six Invitational showcase, some of the biggest names in Rainbow Six showed how impressed they were at what they were being shown.
