Epic Games has announced that Fortnite’s original map is returning permanently to the game. The map will be available in the game starting December 6.

The news confirms rumors from last week of its pending return.

“THIS. IS. NOT. A. DRILL,” the game’s official social media account posted. “OG is coming BACK and is here to stay. Relive Battle Royale from the start and explore the OG map, collect OG loot, and relive OG seasons. Drop back in on December 6.”

The confirmation comes nearly a year after Epic Games first said that Fortnite OG would return in 2024. At the time, there was no mention of it being a full-time return, but that’s exactly what it turned out to be.

“Ngl the OG season far exceeded our expectations,” the game’s social media account posted at the time. “So much so that we’d like to bring it back… *opens 2024 roadmap doc*”
