Marvel Cosmic Invasion Is A Gorgeous New Pixel-Art 2D Beat ‘Em Up From The Makers Of TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge – GPlayr

The side-scrolling beat ’em up has made a triumphant return in the past few years with the likes of Streets of Rage 4 and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge. Now, Marvel wants a piece of the action, teaming up with Tribute Games and publisher Dotemu to announce Marvel Cosmic Invasion, due out this year on Switch, Xbox, PC and PlayStation.

Tribute Games are the same group that made the fantastic TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge, and this new game looks like it could be even better.

The beautiful trailer gives us a glimpse of the wonderful, chunky 2D pixel art, which to my mind really harkens back to the Marvel vs Capcom fighting games.

According to the press release, you’ll have a sizable roster of 15 Marvel heroes to choose from. So far, confirmed characters include Spider-Man, Venom, Storm and Captain America.

You’ll be able to choose two characters on any given level and switch between them at will, which should hopefully make for some fun gameplay mechanics.

No release date was announced, but it will be out by the end of the year.
