As we get closer to the August 14 release of Madden NFL 26, EA has released a new trailer for the game, this time offering us a proper look at the core gameplay of the sports title over the course of 23 minutes. The trailer, which you can check out below, features three matches: Green Bay Packers vs Minnesota Vikings, Minnesota Vikings vs Philadelphia Eagles, and Arizona Cardinals vs Baltimore Ravens.

Along with showing off the second-to-second gameplay of the upcoming sports title, the trailer also goes into detail about some of the game’s features, such as the ability for players to take advice from their team coaches when it comes to deciding on what play they want to execute next. Quite a few of the tactical options that players will have at their disposal are also showcased, such as the ability to change up plays on the fly by calling for new stunts.

We also get to see the reactions of some of the athletes from the teams featured in the trailer as they try to play the game. As the trailer goes on, we also get to see how things like the weather will have an effect on gameplay. A match taking place when it’s snowing, for example, will heavily impair visibility for the match, not just for the in-game athletes, but for the players as well.

Back in July, EA had offered up quite a few details about the steps it was taking to ensure that Madden NFL 26 would feel as authentic as possible. To achieve this, the company confirmed that 18 different team mascots will be available in the game at launch, including Swoop representing the Eagles and Billy Buffalo representing the Bills. Stadiums have also gotten an upgrade, with authentic motion graphics for 26 different teams. EA has also confirmed that more mascots and motion graphics will be added to the game with post-launch updates.

A big source of the game’s authenticity comes from it also emulating the various teams’ different pre-match rituals. An example provided included the Minnesota Vikings sounding the Gjallarhorn for specific events, with the sound going to a higher pitch on the first down, and then going into a low pitch when the team switches to defense on the third down. EA has confirmed that Madden NFL 26 will feature brand new effects, including authentic recordings of chants like Cincinnati’s “Who Dey” and New Orleans’ “Who Dat”.

A trailer released for Madden NFL 26 back in June gave us a look at the game’s new Coach and QB DNA features. These features have been part of EA’s efforts at instilling more authenticity into the game, with the company referring to them as a “leap forward”. The new features are based on new machine learning systems.

Madden NFL 26 was unveiled alongside EA Sports College Football 26. While the latter has already been out for some time, Madden NFL 26 is also available for pre-order, with a Deluxe Edition also featuring early access to the game on August 10.
