Announced in the latest State of Play, Kakehashi Games’ Hirogami received a new gameplay trailer highlighting the origami platformer. It’s available on September 3rd for PS5 and PC, with a free demo available now on Steam.
Origami is a Japanese art form revolving around paper folding, and that’s reflected in every aspect of the presentation and gameplay. As Hiro, players must protect the world from the Blight, which consists of digital threats. Players can transform into different animals, like the brawling Ape or the Frog, who’s capable of bigger hops to traverse the world and ultimately save its residents.
You can even transform into a plane for traversing impassable terrain. Alongside transformations, Hiro also has a paper fan for emitting strong gusts of wind. Alongside the origami-style art, Hirogami features traditional instruments for its soundtrack, adding to the atmosphere. It’s available to pre-order on PS5, so stay tuned for more updates in the coming months.
