At Gamescom 2025, the final faction launching with Heroes of Might & Magic: Olden Era was announced as Schism. Now, developers Unfrozen and publisher Hooded Horse have pulled back the curtain with a full reveal of the debuting faction.
“Schism are a faction of dissenters who split from the Alvar – Jadame’s major continental power – to find their own solution to the Hive threat,” Unfrozen and Hooded Horse said. “Settling among snowy mountains and frozen ravines far from civilization, they founded a society built on literacy, a rigid hierarchy, and a drive to uncover the lost ancient rites of their Vori ancestors.”
Schism also has access to “dangerous, yet powerful magic” that will let players of the faction not only summon their own creatures, but block enemies from using their own abilities.
The faction will have eight heroes to choose from, and feature, like most, seven levels of creatures. You can check out the full reveal of creatures, heroes, spells, and more for Schism below.
Aside from Schism, Heroes of the Might & Magic: Olden Era will launch with five other factions. Those groups are:
- Temple – Classic Humans
- Dungeon – Underground Creatures and Dark Elves
- Hive – Demonic Insectoids
- Necropolis – Undead and Vampires
- Sylvan – The Forces of Nature and Fey Folks
Heroes of Might & Magic: Olden Era is set to release in 2025 in Early Access via Steam. The game was originally planned for a release in Q2 2025, but was delayed to later in the year in order to “create something truly special”.
