Publisher Infogrames and developer Sand Castles Studio have released the “Laboratory” update for Bread & Fred, as well as announced that PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series versions of the game are coming “soon.”
The “Laboratory” update “doubles the game’s content” with a new 666-meter map featuring new mechanics, NPCs, and lore, as well as several new puzzle rooms and secret capybaras to discover. To access the new content, players must have completed the base game.
The update includes:
- All-New Platforms
- Electronic Platforms – Activated by Buttons, Lasers, or Sensors.
- Impulse Platforms – Launch the penguins if they jump at the right time, also activated by Buttons, Lasers, or Sensors.
- Rotating Platforms – Platforms that turn automatically.
- All-New Boss Room – At the top of the lab, players will have to beat four different timed puzzles in the same Boss room before the time runs out.
- Secret Capybaras – Traverse through five secret zones throughout the Lab, with puzzle challenges that will lead Bread and Fred to each lost Capybara.
To celebrate the update, Bread & Fred will also be on sale for Switch via Nintendo eShop and PC via Steam at a 35 percent discount price.
