If you enjoyed 2020’s BPM: Bullets Per Minute but wondered what ever happened to developer Awe Interactive, there’s good news. It has a new game in the works, BPM: Bitcrushed, which launches in 2026 for consoles and PC. Check out the first trailer below.
The biggest difference from its predecessor is that it isn’t in first-person. It’s still a shooter relying on rhythm and features rogue-lite mechanics. The difference is that it’s pixellated, and you can import your own music. The perspective is very Enter the Gungeon-esque, with procedurally generated dungeons. However, alongside guns, players can utilize melee weapons to smack them in the face.
It’s also possible to jump around, avoiding hails of bullets in the process. Stopping Ragnarok is the goal, but how you’ll achieve that – and how long the story will be – remains to be seen. Stay tuned for updates.
In the meantime, BPM: Bullets Per Minute is available for PC, Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch. It received some free updates post-launch, adding new content.
