Retro Studios’ Metroid Prime 4: Beyond has finally received new gameplay footage courtesy of the latest Nintendo Direct. Unfolding on Planet Viewros, we follow protagonist Samus Aran as she ventures through a thick jungle – the same one with the massive tree in the center. Check it out below.

After mysteriously being transported to the world – with an ancient being calling her the “Chosen One” – Samus must scan stone figures and relics to progress. Of course, various wild creatures await, some flying and others with multiple legs.

Samus will rely on some familiar tools, but she’s also imbued with mysterious new Psychic Abilities. She can use these to operate mechanisms and open doors. During combat, they also allow for controlling beam trajectory, piercing multiple enemies at a time.

The trailer ends with a sleek new red armor for Samus, though further details remain unknown. Metroid Prime 4: Beyond launches later this year for Nintendo Switch. Stay tuned for more updates in the meantime.
