After crossing one million players in less than a day, Ubisoft has announced a new milestone for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, reaching two million. It also confirmed that the open-world action RPG’s launch has surpassed the likes of Assassin’s Creed Origins and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.
If that wasn’t enough, it recently reached 64,825 concurrent players on Steam, up from the 41,000+ on launch day. It’s currently ranked as the fifth biggest launch for Ubisoft on the platform. Based on nearly 7,900 user reviews, the title is also rated “Very Positive,” with 81 percent giving the thumbs-up.
Unfolding in late Sengoku era Japan, Assassin’s Creed Shadows follows Iga ninja Naoe and Nobunaga’s retainer Yasuke as they hunt down various targets. Each has a different playstyle, the former opting for stealth and assassination while the latter specializes in melee combat.
Alongside PC, the action RPG is playable on Xbox Series X/S and PS5. Check out our review, where we gave it a nine out of ten, and various tips and tricks.
