After passing 335,000 concurrent Steam players on launch, Battlefield 6’s open beta has peaked at 521,079 concurrent players, per SteamDB. This is likely due to the weekend and the beta opening up for everyone.
Along with surpassing Call of Duty’s highest peak (491,670) on the platform, Electronic Arts confirmed that it’s the biggest open beta for the franchise ever. As such, it also warned players of queues. “Peak time is approaching, and queues will be expected.
“We’re working on entry times to the game, but appreciate your patience as you wait for your time to arrive. We want everyone to experience a smooth and fair Open Beta, including those currently within the game, too.”
The open beta includes three maps (Siege of Cairo, Iberian Offensive, and Liberation Peak) out of nine that will be available in the full game. Conquest and Closed Weapons Conquest are available alongside Domination and Breakthrough. Players can also level up weapons and unlock new attachments for them.
Battlefield 6 launches on October 10th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. The beta will return and become available for all right off the bat on August 14th, before concluding on August 17th. Stay tuned for more details, including on the new Battle Royale mode that will become available in Battlefield Labs “soon.”
