Publisher Panic and developer House House have delayed Big Walk, a cooperative multiplayer adventure about teamwork and talking, from its previously planned release window of 2025 to 2026. It will also be available for console alongside its previously announced PC (Steam, Epic Games Store) version.
Additionally, the companies released an in-deth gameplay overview of the title, featuring the developers as in-game characters, who offer viewers a deeper look at Big Walk from within the game itself.
“Our chat system makes it important to stick together, so navigating the world of Big Walk requires lots of teamwork and talking,” said House House’s Michael McMaster.
Jake Strasser added, “A lot of [our challenges] are designed to let you find funny and surprising new ways to talk. Like the rest of the game, challenges in Big Walk are about the joy of muddling through things together.”
Nico Disseldorp said, “We think there’s some real magic that happens when you forget you forget your plans, and find yourselves doing something else entirely.” For example, by just sitting and enjoying a sunset, or telling stories after dark, having a dance party, or kicking your friend’s binoculars into the ocean. Disseldorp continued, “We made Big Walk to be a nice way to hang out with your friends in a video game, and we hope you like playing it as much as we do.”
Here is an overview of the game, via Panic:
Big Walk is a cooperative multiplayer adventure about teamwork and talking.
Set out with your friends through a wide-open world full of challenges, puzzles, and discoveries. You’ll need to work together to find your way around, stay in contact using an assortment of tools and toys, and figure out new ways to communicate when you suddenly find yourself speechless.
Adventuring aside, there’s plenty of time to just hang out. Sit and watch the sunset, or steal your friend’s binoculars and kick them into the ocean. Spending time with friends is the best part of a big walk.
