April 1st is always a dangerous time of the year to talk about anything that sounds even remotely weird, I know, but this is legit. My Name is Mayo has been remastered and is available right now on PS4 and PS5.

If the name sounds familiar it’s because My Name is Mayo cemented itself a place in the trophy hunting history books. The cheap game was at the forefront of games offering extremely easy Platinum Trophies for cheap, tasking you with doing little more than tapping on a jar of mayo.

Hilariously, someone has already put up a trophy guide for it, and it’s less than 2 minutes long.

Despite this, there is actually more to the game that modern-day Platinum tat, with many players saying that it’s also a genuinely funny game in its own right. There’s even a little bit of story in the game. Emphasis on “little”.

My Name is Mayo owes its popularity and its place on many trophy hunters list’s to a variety of reasons. It began becoming popular simply as a way to boost player’s Platinum counts, but then took on a life of its own. Many people played it to laugh at it, others started playing it because of trophy hunters getting upset about its existence and how they perceived it to damage the value of Platinum Trophies.

These day it’s just as divisive as any of the modern easy Platinum games. Some people have it on their list as a badge of honour, arguing that it has earned its place in trophy hunting history, while others won’t touch it.

Regardless of how you feel about it, the game has returned in new form titled My Name is Mayo: Remayo, boasting 4k graphics and a new pachinko game mode. All of that can be yours for just $1.99 and possibly what’s left of your dignity. I mean, I say that while I’m genuinely considering getting for a laugh.

“You will ReLive its story, ReUnpackage the emotional baggage, and (maybe) you will ReLearn from them while unlocking 50 coveted trophies,” reads the PS Store blurb.

My Name is Mayo went on to spawn 2 sequels on PS4 and PS5.
