Guacamelee Developer Drinkbox Studios Will Reveal its Next Title in 2025

Despite all the big games that launched in 2024 and had updates, several developers worked in relative secrecy on their next projects. Drinkbox Studios of Guacamelee fame is one, and it’s confirmed a brand new title is in development.

Though it couldn’t say “too much” about it yet, it’s “excited” and “can’t wait to share more when we can.” Thankfully, fans won’t have to wait long as Drinkbox will reveal more information in 2025.

The developer’s last title, Nobody Saves the World, is an overhead action RPG. Players control Nobody who can mix and match multiple classes that become progressively more unusual. The title launched in 2022 for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC, Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PS5, with the Frozen Hearth DLC releasing in the same year.

The last update added the Impossible Dungeon in January 2023, so it’s safe to assume that the studio’s next project has been in the works ever since, though its genre is anyone’s guess. Stay tuned for more updates in the coming months.
